Why Persimo?
I started Persimo first because of my love for persimmons. Growing up around them in Turkey, I always wished I could enjoy them for more than just a few weeks each year.
Persimmons are also deeply appreciated in many cultures around the world. So I saw an opportunity to take something highly seasonal and make it available throughout.
If someone already uses honey to add sweetness and flavor to food, we wanted to offer another option—one made entirely from fruit, with a naturally rich flavor and the nutritional characteristics of persimmon.
We also saw an opportunity to serve consumers looking for fruit-based alternatives to honey.
